a lovely, large sized original 1948 handmade coin ring formed from a half-crown. These rings were often made around the war years as precious metals were scarce and one of the easiest ways to create wedding bands or lovers rings was to make them from coins.
This one is nicely made - slightly oval in shape, but perfectly wearable.
You can clearly see the design of the coin, as well as the coin type and date inside the band.
By 1948 Half Crowns were no longer made from silver, so this will be nickel or similar
