This unusual chunky base metal antique ring is set with a really stunning paste diamond. It's faceted and set very well so that the light catches beautifully.
The ring is stamped '18ct' but this is clearly a false stamp and the ring is almost certainly either brass or Pinchbeck trying to pass as gold. It may well have been heavily gilded at some point, but this has worn away over the years. It's a great antique ring regardless, especially for those who like something a little different, that makes an impact.
